Please join SFIP as we congratulate Jenny Chea-Vaing on receiving her AA diploma! It was an honor for Jenny to participate in the 50th graduating class of Los Medanos College in Pittsburg, CA.
As a survivor of the Khmer Rouge’s atrocities, she had experienced the depths of human suffering and the resilience of the human spirit firsthand. From enduring torture, starvation, and the loss of loved
ones, to navigating the harrowing landscapes of war-torn Cambodia, she knows the meaning of hardship all too well. Jenny’s journey has been marked by moments of unimaginable pain, but also by the presence of
countless guardian angels who have helped her weather life’s storms.
Education emerged as her beacon of hope amidst the darkness. Despite being a first-generation student and grappling with the traumas of her past, she persevered. The sacrifices made to pursue her education; balancing studies with a full-time job and raising a family.
She could not have done this alone without the assistance and endless love and support from her family and friends. Everyone’s encouragement in her growth has made all the difference, and she is truly blessed to have such a strong support system during this journey. She will continue her education in criminology and who knows where this will lead her.
We are so proud of Jenny and know she will make a difference in the world. Please visit her non-profit website JCV Artz and Kraftz.com where she participates in many community events and donates the proceeds of her handmade crocheted merchandise to charities.
